ProCert Uk maintaining the credibility and integrity of our certification process is our top priority. As a non-IAF certification body, we follow a defined and transparent procedure for the suspension of ISO certification when a certified organization fails to meet the required compliance or contractual obligations.
The purpose of the suspension process is to ensure that only organizations maintaining continual conformity with the respective ISO standards hold valid certificates under our certification scheme.
1. Purpose of Suspension
Suspension is a temporary status applied to a certification when there is clear evidence that the organization’s management system no longer meets the requirements of the applicable ISO standard or when the terms of certification are violated.
The intent is to provide the organization an opportunity to correct the issue within a defined period before more serious actions such as certificate withdrawal are considered.
2. Conditions for Suspension
Certification may be suspended by ProCert Uk under any of the following circumstances:
Failure to conduct the required surveillance or re-certification audits within the scheduled timeframe.
Failure to close nonconformities raised during audits within the agreed time limit.
Misuse of the certification mark or logo in a misleading manner.
Failure to meet financial obligations related to certification services.
Significant changes in the organization’s structure, management system, or scope without notification to the certification body.
Evidence of fraudulent or unethical practices related to the management system.
Voluntary request for suspension by the certified client (for reasons such as temporary closure, restructuring, etc.).
3. Suspension Procedure
When grounds for suspension arise, ProCert Uk formally notifies the organization in writing. The notification includes:
The reason(s) for suspension.
The period allowed for corrective action (typically up to 6 months).
The consequences if the issue is not resolved within the given timeframe.
During the suspension period, the certification remains temporarily invalid. The organization is prohibited from using the certification mark, logo, or any reference to ISO certification in promotional materials or official communication.
4. Reinstatement of Certification
If the organization successfully implements corrective actions and demonstrates conformity within the defined period, ProCert Uk conducts a verification audit or review.
Upon satisfactory verification, the certification is reinstated, and the organization regains full certification status.
5. Withdrawal of Certification
If the organization fails to resolve the identified issues within the allowed timeframe, or if major nonconformities persist, ProCert Uk may proceed with withdrawal or cancellation of the certificate. The decision and reason for withdrawal are communicated in writing to the client.
Conclusion:
ProCert Uk ensure that the suspension procedure is fair, impartial, and transparent. As a non-IAF certification body, we take all necessary steps to protect the integrity of our certification process while providing organizations an opportunity to correct deficiencies and maintain compliance with their ISO standards.
